With over 20 years within the Nanny industry we can help you on your CPD or first steps for nanny roles. For Ofsted compliance, all 6 modules will need to be completed. Each module cost is £23.00 inclusive of the certificate.
Training via video link is available subject to the trainee having access to a computer and camera link or skype . On purchasing the course, you will receive a hyperlink for this purpose. There are no costs to you for using this video link. We like to speak to our trainees rather than just offer online training. It makes learning more personable and it is easier for us to answer queries and go through solutions.

Module 1: Understanding and working in a family home environment:

Autumn term dates :
Working in a family home is different from a Nursery or other childcare setting so this will help prepare you for becoming a nanny.
On completion of the course you would understand the duties that are required as a nanny and this can help when negotiating with parents when attending interviews. It will ensure your role is as a nanny so that you can help the children learn and develop.
We also help you appreciate the expectations of the parents when they choose to employ a nanny
Also covered is data protection and how this will affect your role as a nanny. We are happy to arrange a venue if a group wishes to learn together, Group discounts do apply. Otherwise we will train via a video link so this enables you to train from home or place of work if you have a computer with a camera.
Module 2. Professional relationships
It is a very different role being in a family setting so this course will assist you in knowing how to present your skills and knowledge, working together with the parents.
Plus, the candidates should prepare work for their portfolio
On completion on this course you should be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with parents and children understanding all different forms of communication and appropriate use.
Developing your skills and how to help the children.
Being able to offer a professional service to clients and your charges this can help nannies know how to handle difficult situations which is paramount when working as a nanny.
Module 3. Health and safety as a nanny

You are sole charge carer of the children and it is your responsibility as a nanny to ensure that the children are safe at all time. This course will discuss all aspects of your role and consideration for the children’s wellbeing throughout.
Plus, some assessments to be completed at home
The course will give you a full understanding of how to ensure that health and safety measure are understood and can be implemented in the home.
We will show you how to ensure procedures are carried out.

In a world of fast food, and allergies we will guide you to organise your menus and gain some understanding of the needs of children, showing that nannies often influent the children’s eating to develop a healthy diet choice.

All children are individuals and they are special and a child’s needs are unique so it’s important when helping children learn and develop. The course will help you plan by various activities so you can help your charges firstly have lots of fun through variety but also learn and develop skills to help them in the world to fulfil their needs as a nanny.

It can be very difficult in a private setting to know how to handle matters that may go amiss, resulting in both parties not being entirely happy. Having helped nannies, families and nanny agencies in dealing with difficult situations and advising how to handle matters, this subject has been added to our programme. Often, the personal relationship can overshadow the professionalism required which can than become problematic for parties to continue in a harmonious environment. Our service can help at these times in terms of listening, guiding and supporting.
Costs: £27.00 per hour via phone. Home visits costs on application
It is a legal requirement that any person working with children under 18 years of age has a DBS. Nanny Link works in partnership with Civil and Corporate to enable these checks to take place.
What is a DBS ?
Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks are now called Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
You may need to check someone’s criminal record if they apply for the following:
- Certain jobs or voluntary work, e.g.: working with children or in healthcare.
- There are different rules for getting a criminal record check in Scotland – Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme and Northern Ireland – Access NI.
Nanny link will verify documents and process the first stage of the check.
£15.00 administration fee per check ( cost of DBS is paid by the candidate direct to Civil and Corporate)
