Gross versus Net pay advice:

We recently asked our clients in a survey, "on informing you as to a nanny's salary do you prefer GROSS or NET figures?"

Overwhelmingly, we were asked to give a GROSS figure. Please bare in mind that a nanny having a second post will not be able to have their tax allowance unless they split their tax code. We are also unaware of an individuals tax code until the employer hands a P45 over. If you do agree a net salary then whatever Tax and NI is due you are liable to pay the additional amount on TOP of their net pay. This could be as high as 23-40% in addition. So we advise that pay is disgused in GROSS all the time.

Since January 2006 Nanny link have made a stance on this outdated information of quoting NET pay and will only discuss GROSS. This ensures our nannies are paid correctly as we give our clients a true figure of the cost of a nanny.

I found Nanny Link both professional and friendly. Nanny Link sent a good variety of CV's and did not push me to see anyone I was not interested in. The three prospective nannies I chose to meet, were all of high caliber.

We had a need for a nanny to cover the time that the children's father would be in hospital. The operation went badly wrong but our nanny was superb and able to provide a calm environment for the children, while the family suffered a severe traumatic event, she was a real life saver. Our first impression of Nanny Link was that they were very professional and helpful, and Tracy fully understood what we needed.
